Weather-wise, winter is the best time of year in Nicaragua; but the spiritual battle and the ministry goes on. Christmas eve is a big deal in Nicaragua; so the youth put on a special service with music and dramas, and of course, Pastor Jon taught the Word. You can see by the photo that the costumes were very good, and it was an excellent opportunity to give out the Gospel to those who would not normally come to church.

The youth have been growing in faith, so it seemed good to give them a fun day at a pool in Ciudad Darío, almost a two hour drive north. It was a great time of fellowship and sharing the Word. It was good to see a spirit of unity as the youth played and fellowshipped.

As the youth grow in faith, so does the willingness to serve. Jose Sánchez spent a week at CC Nueva Guinea serving as a missionary. He has been faithful here with the children’s ministry as well. Some of the youth also helped Claudia Dávila, one of our church members, move into her new home. She and her family had been living with her grandmother and sister, along with her sister’s family; they are pleased now to have their own space, though it is far from the church, near the volcano Momotombo.

We have been blessed with the help of the Moore family for almost a year and a half; but they recently moved to the coast to begin a new ministry. All good things must come to an end; but we will pray for their new ministry near Poneloya to grow quickly, and for the blessings to continue to flow through them in their new community. They are on the beach west of Leon, so we hope to visit them this year.

For the first time ever, there is no one living in the church building. That will change soon. John Scelsi will arrive on the 19th of February to serve here for six months. We pray that he will be blessed while he is here seeking to bless others. Please pray that he will learn Spanish rapidly.

Diciembre, enero y febrero son los meses con el mejor clima pero la batalla espiritual y el ministerio siguen. La noche de 24 de diciembre es grande en Nicaragua y los jóvenes hicieron un culto especial con musica y drama y un mensaje del Pastor Jon Moore. Puede ver en la foto como los jóvenes estaban bien disfrazados y era el tiempo adecuado para presentar el evangelio a los que no tienen la costumbre de entrar en la iglesia.

 

 

Los jóvenes han crecido en la fe y por esta razón fuimos a una piscina en la Ciudad Darío, un viaje de casi dos horas al norte. Esto era un buen tiempo en la Palabra y compañerismo. Algunos de los jóvenes son dispuestos para servir al Señor. José Sánchez fue en viaje misionero para una semana sirviendo en CC Nueva Guinea. También José ha sido fiel en el ministerio de niños aquí. Algunos jóvenes ayudaron a Claudia Dávila y su familia para trasladar su hogar cerca del volcán Momotombo. Claudia ha sido en la iglesia con nosotros por muchos años pero ha sido difícil vivir en la misma casa con mucha familia.

 

La familia Moore ha sido una gran bendición al servir por un año y medio aquí en la iglesia. Ya la familia Moore está viviendo cerca de Poneloya para empezar una nueva obra allá. Poneloya es una de las playas más cercana de León. Esperamos que podamos visitarles en este año. Por favor, ora por esta nueva obra y la familia Moore.

 

 

Por primera vez, nadie está morando en la iglesia pero esto cambiará pronto. John Scelsi viene el 19 de febrero para servir por seis meses con nosotros. Por favor, ora que John pueda aprender español y bendecir a muchos aquí.
