Spring News 2017
In January, we began offering music classes teaching piano, guitar, and voice. We are hoping to help create new musicians for our worship team, which is still struggling after the death of Medardo last April, whom we honored with a memorial service on April 9th of this year. We are still praying for his mother and sister (Scarleth and Margarita), both of whom are still battling depression over the loss of their loved one.
Also in January, we were privileged to join leaders from Calvary Chapel Nueva Guinea in attending a conference in Granada. It was a beautiful time of fellowship.
In February, our new school year began. Two work teams from Jessie’s school came to help give the school (and parts of the church and bakery) a makeover. They set up the computer lab, including a few new computers. They repainted all the classrooms and the courtyard, including touching up the Creation mural. They repaired desks and cleaned gutters, and much more. It was truly a blessing to see all they accomplished. Some were able to play with the students at recess time.
In March, we restarted our Awana program after the winter vacation. We are excited to see God moving through this ministry in the lives of the children of our neighborhood as well as in the lives of the leaders, all of whom are youth from the church.
Also in March, we were privileged to receive a medical team from Miami University for a huge, one-day clinic. They were able to see over 200 patients. We are praying that the light of the love of God is evident in His caring even for physical bodies.
